Transmitting MIDI via RealAudio
By Pete Woodworth

Greetings, all.

In Digest 980612, Robbie writed:

 [ The QRS Pianomation system converts the MIDI wireline bytes into
 [ a synchronous code, originally intended for Philips cassettes. ...
 [ However, it may need a little more bandwidth than a voice-grade
 [ telephone circuit provides;

Since the signal (FSK?) is now in my beloved analog domain, how about
re-encoding it for Streaming RealAudio? The Real encoder can also be
optimized for that signal type. This would allow a higher-bandwidth
"broadcast" medium. Just a thought. I know George Bogatko has an
encoder set up; anyone else?

Cheers.
