Source of Modern Pickups for Edison Disks
By Douglas K. Rhodes

One of the oldest established suppliers of styli and pickups for
reproduction of 78's, Edison discs, cylinders, etc., is:

  Expert Stylus Company
  W D Hodgson, proprietor
  P.O. Box 3
  Ashtead, Surrey KT21 2QD
  England
  Tel: 0372 276604
  Fax: 0372 276147

Mr. Hodgson can supply an amazing array of styli to play 2-minute
cylinders, 4-minute cylinders, Pathe discs, Edison discs, and 78's
of any era. His diamond styli come in a broad range of radii, either
spherical or elliptical, truncated or not. Typically, the cantilever
he uses will fit many modern Shure cartridges (which he also sells).
Alternately, he fits styli to popular Stanton audiophile cartridges,
or to most any old cantilever that you might send him.

The company has been a major, if not primary supplier of styli and
pickups to prominent collectors, archives, and libraries around the
world for many decades.
