Barber-Colman Gearmotor for Universal Player
By Dave Vincent

Apparently, I got one of the "good" Universal players. The piano and
its mechanisms are in good shape after 20 years, and it is still
playing satisfactorily, which does not seem to be the norm.

Anyhow, the roll drive motor in my unit was not made by Pittman. Mine
has a Barber-Colman gearmotor which has been good for the last nineteen
or so years (the original stripped a gear in the first year and was
replaced under warranty). The model number is CYQM 34210-12. Perhaps
this will provide an alternative source for parts.

Dave Vincent.
