Weber 6' Grand Duo Art Pedal Only
By Nigel Perry

I have just acquired this machine. Lovely mahogany casework and despite
being in a garage for six years and action solid with damp when I saw
it two months ago, on delivery has now freed off almost perfectly and,
surprise surprise, is almost in tune.

A quality instrument, BUT!!

What of the player mechanism. Judging by all the scratches around screw
holes, its been messed around with. The black tubing is not rubber, but
rather like old PVC. It could have been re-tubed, but, although the
pedal exhausters are sound and do not leak, all other accessible
pneumatics are original, cracking and u/s.

I haven't inspected the stack yet.

I bought the machine for 800 Pounds, having not been able to view it
properly and not realising that it was only half Duo Art. But I reckoned
that the piano was well worth than anyway.

Can anyone tell me the following: ?

Can I convert to full Duo-Art? (the tracker bar is thus.)

I would like to convert to electric, but would need the appropriate
tracker bar and roll box with switch, re-roll facility etc.

Would I be better to be thankful for what I have got. Will it be as
versatile, once fully restored, as a full Duo-Art. If not, why did
they build them like that in the first place!!

I can find no literature on half Duo-Art mechanisms. Anyone suggest any?

It would be nice to know how old this Piano is. The No. is 77696.
