Hi All,
I am the guy with the Barrel Organ Plans. Before I went all mechanical
I wrote an article for Computer Craft Magazine(August 1993) and
MicroComputer Journal(March/April 1994). My articles delt with
getting data into the computer but I also know how to get data out.
You can use the parallel port to drive relays but it is limited to
eight relays. To fix this problem you can take the first four bits
and send it to a 74154 IC. Now you have one of sixteen outputs from
the chip. Use the second four bits to drive a second 74154 and get a
second set of sixteen outputs. Add in a second parallel port and you
can get even more possibilities. MicroComputer Journal sometimes has
ads for controller boards in it.
