The Musical Box Society International published a 7-page history of the
Regina Company, written by Mary Kosiarski, that is brief but complete.
This was done in conjunction with the MBSI Regina exhibit at the
Lockwood-Mathews Museum, Norwalk, CT. There has been discussion of
reprinting this document, but no decision to date. I would be willing
to take comments on the need for such a reprint.
Al Choffnes, an MBSI member, wrote a complete history of the Regina Co.
in the MBSI Journal of Mechanical Music, spring 1992, to commemorate
the centennial of the company in America. MBSI members may request
a copy of this magazine for $3 from Back Issues Chairman Ted Leverett.
(They are in limited supply.)
Regarding Regina identification, the MBSI owns all of the original
manufacturing records in bound form of the Regina Company. MBSI
members may request a shipping certificate of their Regina by sending
$2 along with the serial no. (usually found on the top or side of the
bedplate), single or double combs, short or long bedplate, and case
stain.
Send all of this to: Bob Yates, 1493 Butler Plank Rd., Glenshaw, PA
15116. In return you will receive a certificate with the date the box
was shipped from the factory in Rahway, NJ and to whom it was shipped.
