Hi Gang, A Wurlitzer Style "O" Photoplayer will be delivered this
summer after a complete restoration in Canada. I really would like to
find a library of APP rolls used on this machine. I have several of
these 10-tune rolls but it will only take a day or so before I get
bored listening to them.
I have always loved the sound of the Reproduco Funeral Parlor organs.
I have finally found one of the Unified models with the theater organ
style console and large side chest. However, the organ comes with one
roll. Remember that the Unified Rolls are different than the regular
self-contained Reproduco rolls. The Unified rolls are 15" wide and
usually contain three early "mournful" tunes for background music in
the funeral parlor. "Unified" is marked on the box and possibly on the
roll. I have a large supply of the regular Reproduco rolls (new recuts
from Ray Siou). Maybe we can work up a swap? Any assistance would be
greatly appreciated. Without a library of these rolls, the machine
will not be much fun to play.
If you are looking for anything, visit our recently updated web site at
http://members.aol.com/cotps/. Maybe we can help you in return. There
are about 60 tunes you can listen to as you browse.
I almost forgot: As MBSI members know, we have now added the restored
Blessing Robot Band to our collection. This piece first come to the
U.S. in the 1950's and belonged to Mr. Lewis Graham. For about 20
years, this Band traveled up and down the East Coast in one of 7
trailers. Perhaps as a part of the admission fee, Mr. Graham provided a
48 page booklet to patrons. The book measures 8-1/2" by 11", contains
48 pages; the cover is green and yellow in color and is titled "Museum
of Music". It was copyrighted in 1967. On the front or perhaps back
is the only color photo in the brochure and it shows the Blessing Robot
Band. I would really love to add a copy to our history files on the
Band. Does anyone have one for sale? How about swapping your copy of
this brochure for a one-hour video tape (now in production) of the
Robot Band.
