Hello, I am one of those MMD "lurkers" that enjoys reading the
writings but really knows very little about a lot of what is written.
I feel like I'm imposing when I ask for some assistance, though.
I have a few musical instruments - mechanical and non. What I am in
need of is parts for a Starck Mini Grand, 66 keys, 4- by 4-foot, circa
1918. I can not recall the "official name" of the parts and I couldn't
get in touch with my technician to ask (who lives 2 hours away and is
always out).
There are some kind brackets that are made of "white metal" that are
slowly crumbling and need to be replaced. They have something to do
with holding the action in place. (I believe this is a serious
problem, huh?) Anyway I am hoping to find some rather than having to
have them made. These are smaller than regular pianos and not easy to
find, so I am told.
The piano isn't so much great for its musical importance but rather for
the case that is hand painted with Kachina Indian figures and other
HOPI symbols -- but it does sound good when in tune. Anyway, any
direction greatly appreciated. Thanks for MMD and all the great info!
