'The Martin Method' is usually seen on one of the 4-roll editions
published by the Gulbransen Piano Co., and perforated by Aeolian's
Mel-O-Dee/Universal plant.
However, there is also an earlier set of rolls which numbers 6, and
this was cut by QRS Music Co. for the Gulbransen enterprise.
The QRS series has the typical black stencil printing on it, which
echoed the QRS Music Rolls of the time. The Aeolian line had that
'turquoise green' rubber-type printing which was characteristic of
Mel-O-Dee and Duo-Art rolls in the 1920's.
Hope this answers that question. If you really want to be accurate,
then the three or four series of 'The Martin Method' should be kept
together, since there were differences in the material presented from
one edition to the next, over the years. Some of the Aeolian-made
rolls were grouped in a special 4-roll package with a companion
Instruction Manual.
