This is true, and I should have said so, and I've been suitably
chastised from other quarters.
The bit of sarcasm quoted above was aimed at one of my pet peeves, and
that is people who grab up these instruments only to "score points",
not for the music that they contain. Thus the quip about not changing
the roll and painting the case pink.
Mr. Torin kept the instrument in excellent condition and made a
tremendous effort to ensure that the most people possible heard it
play in public settings. I would challenge the new owners to do the
same. There are enough street fairs and public celebrations around
that this would be possible. Otherwise it's no better (nor moral)
then the Hunt brothers trying to hoard all the silver.
