In the UK this weekend with nothing to do?
On Sunday, 10th May, the Player Piano Group will have a publicity stall
at the National Vintage Communications Fair (NVCF), Birmingham, UK.
MMDers George Fleming and Roger Waring will be running it, so why not
pop along and get acquainted -- you will be made most welcome. Roger's
taking along his Farrand Pianola upright, so there should be music all
day! The last time the PPG managed to get a pianola to the fair, it had
a crowd round it all the time it was playing, which was great publicity
for the hobby. It attracted a few new members as well.
The fair has a couple of hundred stalls selling, for the main part,
old radios and similar stuff. On the expensive side in my view, but
some nice things to look at anyway. Very little, if any, stuff in the
musical box or player piano line (although last time I went I got two
Ariston organette disks for $5 the pair, so there's always hope!).
The fair is at the NEC (National Exhibition Centre) in Birmingham, UK.
Hall 11, open to the public at 10.30. There's an entry fee of a few
pounds.
