HI All, Just a short but very true story. While evaluating a player
piano this morning, I found $1567.00. The money was most likely put
there by the previous owner (who is the current owner's uncle) back in
1984. There were five envelopes inside a Black & Decker power tool
pamphlet, folded over and 'closed' with two necktie clasps. Each
envelope was marked with the amount it contained and three of the five
were sealed.
The money is going to be returned to the owner's uncle, who still works
for a living as a sign painter.
What's the point of telling you all this?
Can you imagine misplacing over $1500 in 1984? Can you imagine how
crazy the uncle must have been when he couldn't remember where he had
stashed his 'loot'? Can you imagine how high he must have been
getting, using paints and thinners, to have forgotten where he put all
that money?
Word to the wise: don't hide things when you're not completely in touch
with all your facilities.
Oh, by the way, I got the job ... and a tip!
