Ed Link & Link Aviation Trainer
By Bob Conant

Living near Binghamton and being friends with Harvey Roehl, I get
these small tidbits of information. Harvey had been friends with Ed
Link for many years and he tells this story. I have forgotten the
exact dimensions of the original Link Trainer but it was something
like 7 feet 10 inches from stubby wing tip to stubby wing tip.

Ed asked Harvey if he knew why the wings were "7 feet 10 inches"
apart. Harvey said he did not and Ed said, "Because that is the
biggest dimension that would fit through the door of the freight
elevator at the organ factory on Water Street !"

This has been another of the Tales from the Crypt.
