Matthew Caulfield inquires about Part 1 of the Ray Siou Tour. I have
that tape in my possession somewhere, unlabeled, underneath my stack of
Clara Bow talkies.
In the videotape Ray, demonstrates his Wurlitzer PianOrchestras, Arburo
dance organ, Seeburg E Special, Seeburg A, and build-up orchestrions.
Plus, as a bonus, I believe there is a visit to Ed Sprankle's in
Oakland, where you get to see and hear Ed's cool (and newly restored at
the time) mahogany Seeburg E with violin pipes formerly owned by
Charlie Smallwood, and that piano really sounds GOOD.
Ray is very much alive and kicking, and yes, I got many surprises in my
shipments of rolls too, some of them rated XXX (Thank you, Ray!). I
will try and retrieve this tape and dub it at work (it is not a very
good tape, being the dub of a dub) but it'll do. I have also
videotaped my machines but the audio quality I find is not up to par
with recording with mikes, and they're not in stereo when you use a
camcorder.
