Correction: Earwitness CDs are not Nimbus CDs
By Jim Edwards

Robbie, when I sent you the comments about the Earwitness CDs I did not
use the word Nimbus.

These are two different, very different, recording projects. The
Nimbus recordings were done in London on the Stonehill robot piano.
The CDs that I mentioned were done in the United States and were at
first broadcast on classical music stations a while ago, such as WFMT in
Chicago.

The host for this series of broadcasts was none other than Harold C.
Schonberg and this project was under the approval of Henry Steinway.
Douglas Henderson sent me a message commenting about the Nimbus project
and also mentioned that Robin Pratt of AMICA did not like the Nimbus
recordings. I also did not write a favorable review of this effort.

If I remember correctly it was Robin Pratt that thought highly of the
Earwitness efforts. This series was done by Madrigal Audio Labs and
I still think, from a listening on the radio and not having given the
two CDs a close listen, that this set is one of the best on the market
at the present time.

Jim Edwards

[ I was sure confused! Thanks for the correction, Jim. -- Robbie
