Hi. My name is Tom McAuley and I live in Hutchinson, Kansas. I don't
know much about mechanical musical instruments -- I don't own any,
I don't restore them, I just like to watch them and listen to them,
especially organs, calliopes, and player pianos. I've just been
listening in for a few days to see if I could learn more.
One thing I do know is how to find videos. Part of my job at the
library where I work is locating all the odd videos that teachers would
like to show in their classes, so Scott Olson's question about
"Operation Amsterdam" and "Puppet on a Chain" got me looking.
In my opinion, the VideoHound's Golden Movie Retriever is the best
place to start looking for a video. Among its various indexes is a
Web Site Index of actors, films, and distributors. I looked there
and fairly quickly located both videos at Video Oyster in New York:
http://www.videohound.com
http://www.VideoOyster.com
They aren't exactly cheap, but they are available.
Now, if anybody has a monkey organ or piano they would like to dispose
of for not much money ...
