In MMD 980408 a reference was made to "Music from the Internet
(Terry Smythe)".
Not quite sure what happened here, but possibly some miscommunication
a few months back during early discussions stage. Yes, I will be
attending the Convention, and yes I will be conducting a workshop
about the Internet.
However, I'm bringing with me only my dinky little notebook computer
which does not have sound capability. So, with that computer it is my
objective to do a "Gee Whiz!" demo about how easy it is to get on the
Internet, how easy it is to find and download music files, how easy it
is to link up with MMD, how easy it is to surf the 'Net, etc. I will
include an actual on-line connection through the hotel phone system as
part of the workshop.
There is nothing I would like more to do than to provide an on-line
music, but with this little computer, that will not be possible. Now,
if by chance, somebody should happen to be coming to the Convention and
bringing along a "sound" aware computer that might be used instead,
that would be real nice.
If by chance, other knowledgeable MMD folks are in attendance who would
like to jump in and supplement the workshop with their own perceptions
and experiences, a la "forum" style, that also would be very nice. I
would be delighted if others might like to join me in this effort.
I would also be very interested in the thoughts of others relative to
something that I might give away at the workshop, possibly a disk load
of sound files, possibly some nifty shareware software, possibly
documentation of some kind. Ideas and suggestions would be most
welcome.
