Regina Short Bedplate
By Marty Roenigk

Brian Chesters inquired about the definition of a Regina short bed-plate.

Actually, the bed-plate does not reach all the way across from the right
side of the case to the left, it only goes a little over halfway to the
left, and usually has a curved left edge -- very distinguishable. And
there is a step down of the boards inside the case, with two visible
wood sound-posts coming down from the left edge of the bed-plate.

It truly was a significant improvement in music box sound technology.
Louder, more bass, etc.
