Art Reblitz asks:

I love my copy of the "Treasures of Mechanical Music" and I have no
problem with what might have been. I'm very glad this book was
produced in the first place and I have learned a lot from it. For the
record there are likely errors in every book ever produced. Does that
mean we should stop publishing? God, I hope not. Lets suck it in and
move on. Most of the information in the "Treasures of Mechanical
Music" is right on target.
Those of us who have been involved in mechanical music, for many years,
know that new information comes to light every year. Many of the books
in my personal library have information that was invalid the day it was
printed. That hasn't changed, it that information is still invalid
today. So what.
I think Art should give these new collectors to the hobby, and those
who missed the boat, what they want (a copy of "Treasures of Mechanical
Music") and as soon as he can, warts and all.
I would likely NOT get a copy of a new book, but would buy all of the
new information if offered. Why not print the book as it is, (not
knowing how many printings there were), call it a second, third,
fourth... printing.
(Does any one know how many printings there are of the Encyclopedia of
mechanical music now? You know, It has problems too.)
Offer it to those who want it so very badly RIGHT NOW. Then, I think
you should offer an addenda book of all of the new pictures and
information, for ALL of us who want the new information.
You could put me on the list for the addenda book.
