Okay, here it goes. I'm taking the plunge! My name is Gabriel T.
Della Fave and my humble, ordinary player piano was repaired by John A.
Tuttle this past February, such that it can once again play rolls after
a thirty-plus-year hiatus.
The player is not completely repaired yet, but I think even in its
present state it sounds just great. I love the sound it produces quite
dearly and its nice to restore a piece of the past. It has been in my
house these long seventy-three years and it is quite a special thing to
hear it "alive" again. (I have owned it for about five years and I am
enjoying it to no end. It makes me very, very happy.)
Anyway, I am in such awe and wonder of this instrument, that I have
developed a little web site with RealAudio recordings of my player
piano, thanks to the inspiration of Karl Ellison's site. Mine is a
Lexington Simplex Straightline Player from 1925. I have been told it
is a very ordinary player--but I am amazed at how great 'ordinary' is,
in the player piano world. Most lay people I know think it is a
truly wonderful and amazing musical instrument. Here is my new Web
site:

I hope you enjoy it. Any and all comments are welcome.
Sincerely,
Gabe Della Fave
[ Welcome to MMD, Gabe. I agree with you -- until I can have my
