Just a gentle reminder that the Northwest International Chapter of the
Musical Box Society International will be holding its spring meeting on
the weekend of April 18/19 in Sechelt, BC.
We think this meeting will be both informative and a lot of fun.
Non-MBSI visitors are, of course, more than welcome.
The location is scenic and there are lots of things to see and do in
this area which is popular for weekend getaways.
There will be a dinner meeting on Saturday evening and an open house on
Sunday morning with a _free_ brunch and two workshops.
The first workshop will be presented by a well-known member and will be
on the subject, _with demonstration_ of a Francois Nicole musical box
with "rigid notation." (Drooling not permitted).
The second workshop will be a review of the operation of the piano end
of the Duo-Art Concertola roll changer system. The stack and electric
tracker interface will be in full view and not encumbered by the piano
as will the late expression system using aluminum valves, "butterfly"
pneumatics and a pneumatically-operated spill valve. Credit to Al
Pebworth for making this possible.
If you will be in the Pacific Northwest during the time of the meeting
and would like to come, please e-mail me at the address below and I
will send more complete information.
