Hi gang. While I was cursing the web today, I went to the web site of
the Piano Technician's Guild (PTG). On a link I found and downloaded a
program called Tunelab 97. It is shareware, and well worth the money.
This program requires a '486 or better processor, Windows, and a
microphone and sound card. This program will also display inharmonicity
measurement and storage, auto note detect, and quite a few other
things.
If I can ever figure out what these displayed numbers about inharmon-
icity mean, I should be able to figure out which Foster piano has the
better scale: the original one or the one I restrung using a Baldwin
stringing scale. If someone understands inharmonicity comparisons,
please E-mail me. I would love to understand the finer details of
stringing scales; it will also help me become a better tuner.
You may find the program at http://www.wwnet.net/~rscott
My web site is still down, but should be up in a few days. I am still
taking roll orders, and should have some new rolls very soon, including
one by Andy Fielding, and MMD's own John Tuttle. There is a page about
Tempola rolls at John Tuttle's great web site; John is a great friend
and a terrific guy!
I will keep you posted.
Best Regards
Andy Taylor, Tempola Music Rolls
