Mechanical Music in the Movies
By Dick Merchant

Hi All. There were two movies, Moonlight Bay, and By The Light of the
Silvery Moon, the latter being a sequel to the former, with Doris Day
set in the World War I era of small town America. Both featured the
player grand which was a Duo-Art in several places.

In Moonlight Bay, They opened the spool box, which clearly displayed
the Aeolian name behind the roll chucks, and inserted what looked like
a 1950's QRS roll of the title song which Doris and Gorden McCray sang
a duet to.

Regards, Dick Merchant, Carlsbad, NM
