Many thanks to all the people who replied and sent suggestions about
the leather drive wheel on the Wurlitzer roll mechanisms. My next step
will be to try to make a wheel out of a rubber shoe heel, as it seems
to be the least involved.
If that doesn't work out then next will be casting it from Devcon
Flexane 80, which is available from Granger's under their stock number
5A460. Failing that, I will try using an O-ring mounted on a wooden
wheel. I'll report back.

[ Check the "wheel alignment", too, in order to eliminate the sideways
[ scraping. Verify that the axis of the driven shaft intersects the
[ axis of, and is perpendicular to, the driving shaft, i.e., the driven
