Hello all, Here I sit, with an aerosol can of TFL-50 Wet Lubricant
before me, obtained from Schaff Piano Supply. I have been going
cross-eyed searching the web for information on it, and have been able
to find nothing remotely useful. The manufacturer is listed as RemChem
Division of RemGrit, and the can states that this is the "Original
DuPont Formula". According to the can, TFL stands for "Thin Film
Lubricant".
What I need to know (before I get within 10 yards of a piano with it)
is if this is a silicone-based product, a Teflon-based product, or
WD-40 in sheep's clothing. Except for stating that the product
contains petroleum distillates, there are no clues on the label. The
label does state that it displaces water. Well, so do I when I step
into the bathtub. That doesn't tell me much.
Does anyone know anything about this TFL-50 Wet Lubricant? Any help
will be greatly appreciated.
