In the Seeburg L there are two common types of glass and some rarer
variations. The Seeburg L is often found with two case variations.
This means that the glass from one Seeburg L made in 1921 would not fit
the L from 1927. The 1921 Seeburg would have two doors on the front of
the machine while the later L has four doors (two on top and two on
bottom). The early style with the two doors does not have any clear
glass while the later style has clear glass that you can see the roll
as it plays.
There is also about an inch difference in height on the glass with the
early style glass being the taller of these two styles. The early L
usually has a five digit serial number and the later style usually has
a six digit number and these started with serial number 155,XXX.
There is always an exception to any thoughts and I welcome pictures
serial numbers and any other information anyone has concerning
coin-operated player pianos.
