Roll Artists

Hi Douglas,  Thanks for the info, I do understand the reasoning behind
it all, it's the same then as it is now -- money!

Actually my first and main interest with players is the workings and
restoration of them.  I do sit back and enjoy the music too, its just
that we recently obtained a 1927 Duo-Art catalogue and a 1925 Ampico
one and reading them makes you *appreciate* the people who played (or
was supposed to play) them.

To me the sound that comes out is first and foremost in my mind.  It
does not really worry me but I just think it's a bit slack.  I knew it
went on, as said in previous articles;  I am just trying to find out if
it is, for example, a few rolls, half the rolls, or most of the rolls,
and the same with roll companies.
