When you were a kid, did you get invited into a candy shoppe and could
not believe all of the stuff you saw? Are you interested in disk music
boxes? How about an example of just about every Kalliope, Symphonium
(except Eroica), Stella, Comet, Criterrion, Europophon, Polyphon,
Regina, etc., ever produced? (No changers, however.)
How about upright disk boxes, some with clocks; some with tuned bells?
How about the greatest interchangeable cylinder boxes you have ever
seen, some with up to nine cylinders? Do you like key winds (6)? How
about a super "necessaire" (sp)? Do you like magnificent overture
boxes (6)? How about fat cylinders (several)? Want drums and bells?
Mermod? Nicole?
Need disks for your disk music boxes? Would you like to select from
several thousand of all sizes? Would you like to buy a monkey or
street organ in beautiful playing condition, some with extra barrels?
How about a nice 37-key Bacigalupo (German, Berlin)? Need a wonderful
Wurlitzer self-contained theater style console organ, complete with
pipes and blower?
Select from 50 phonographs including a "Berliner". Want a nice
Amberola cylinder phonograph? Select from about 10 available. How
about a nice AMPICO grand with , perhaps, 1,000 rolls (to be sold
separately)? A Regina Hall Clock? A Mira huge console?
Hundreds of Apollo rolls. Hundreds of Model 1500 organ rolls, player
pianos by the ton. Thousands of rolls of all kinds. Over a thousand
Edison cylinders. Original bases for Edison phonographs filled with
usable cylinders.(6-10).
Several DOZEN music box bases, including some serpentine Regina bases.
Magnificent large Capital Cuff box (but someone stole the comb). Large
roll cabinets, several magnificently carved. The list is absolutely
endless. The collector wanted one of everything made, from the worst
and cheapest to the most elaborate and most magnificent.
I nearly went nuts when I was asked to work with the auction house that
will sell these items in May in the Eastern United States. If you are
interested in receiving a catalog (perhaps mid to late April) just drop
me a note at <cotps@aol.com> and I will see that the Auction House gets
your name and address. The auctioneer will likely advertise in the
MBSI Bulletin and mail each member a flyer. In addition, he will
advertise in the Arts and Antique Weekly (a BEE Publication on the east
coast).
