Old Jukebox Makes Fun
By Damon Atchison
I was in a new restaurant in my city which is modeled like a 50's
diner. It was interesting. The menu was simple, but the decor was
great.
I spent a lot of money playing the juke-box. It was a Wurlitzer. It
had been converted to a computerized record selector, but the other
components were original from the 40's. I could tell because I have
seen the reproduction new Wurlitzer juke-boxes at Graceland and their
parts are mostly white plastic.
The other interesting thing were the remote Seeburg speakers which were
positioned around the restaurant. They were plastic and functioning.
There were a lot of people around the juke-box playing tunes for 25
cents each. It generated quite an interest.
