Hi Gang: I've been out of action for a while; our little Zeos 486
computer died. My local computer guy rebuilt the computer with a
Pentium 200 MHz mother board, a 4.3 Gb hard drive and other computer
goodies. It really performs well.
To keep myself from going crazy while I was cut off from the computer
crowd, I decided to pull the pumps out of the art-case Foster and
rebuild them, polishing all metal parts, screws, etc., and making the
pump look like new. The pumping pedal mats were worn all the way
through, and I replaced them with the 'stair tread' matting. It looks
okay, but I couldn't help but ponder the idea of reproduction pedal
mats with the Standard backward "S" .
Some years ago, The Kaiser-Frazer car club had reproduction floor mats
made. I was thinking the same could be done for Standard action pedal
mats. I would be interested in assisting someone reproduce these if
there is someone who has the equipment to make them. Although
reproduction pedal mats are not a major part of a player piano, it
would be a very nice added touch for the standard equipped players.
