Seek Tracker for 1909 Cable Euphona
By Keith Parker
Hi Everyone -- I have been a member of MMD for a number of months and
have enjoyed the dialog and information that gets passed on via this
newsletter. I continue to be amazed at the wealth of knowledge that is
contained in the membership of this group. I would like to tap into
that knowledge base as follows:
I have a 1909 Cable Euphona upright player piano that I plan to
restore. The piano is in pretty rough shape, having spent a large part
of its life in the heat and humidity of the low country of South
Carolina. It also has served as a home for a number of rodents, who
found various parts of the piano appealing enough to eat.
Everything seems complete with the exception of the tracking mechanism
-- there appears to have been something in the lower part of the
spoolbox that connected with an external mechanical linkage, but the
tracking mechanism itself is gone. Does anyone know how I would find
out what the tracking mechanism was on this piano? Any help would be
appreciated.
