Hi all-y'all. I'm usually just an observer to MMD, but I must say to
Dan Armstrong, "Sorry about the moths!" :-( That was my piano that
infested his shop.
I never had any problems when the piano was in my house, but I suspect
that the extreme humidity activated them. You see, it sat in my
flooded house in East Grand Forks, Minnesota, after the flood last
April. It was almost three weeks before we were allowed to return to
our homes, so the piano sat there getting a steam bath. With the
exception of a broken basement window, there was no ventilation. The
piano never touched the water, but the basement was completely filled.
I hope the members of MMD and their friends and families are spared the
worst of the incredible weather that we are experiencing due to El Nino
(or whatever causes these phenomena). (Phenomeni?)
I strongly recommend flood insurance if you are even _close_ to a flood
plain! It cost me $630.00 and I had $47,000.00 in damages! It was a
*good investment*!
Good luck all!
