Better Paper for Recut Rolls
By Eugene Rogers

Hello Everyone: I was playing some rolls on my BA Aeolian-Hammond
Player Organ and notice the frayed ends and this got me to thinking:
Is there a better material than paper to use for recutting the Masters?
I was thinking of the thin plastic (used in preserving documents for
use in a loose-leaf note book) and thought this would be a great
material to use for recutting. It is durable and would not fray on
the edges and is about the same thickness as the paper on rolls. Of
course, printing on the plastic would be another question to be solved,
but I was thinking for durability.

Almost every roll, that I purchase, has the frayed edges (probably due
to poor tracking) and see the life expectancy of these rolls as
limited. There is no one, that I know of, that is recutting rolls for
the BA Organ, since there is so few of these beasts still in existence.

I just thought of this and wanted to share my thoughts with others.

Thanks for your time
