I recall from somewhere (probably this mail list within the past two
years) the remarkable item that J. Lawrence Cook recorded at QRS in
"slow motion", using a special master-cutting locking-key piano. He'd
hit a chord, lock the keys down, hit more associated keys, lock them
down, and _then_ punch that slice in time directly on the master roll.
He did his arranging right at that piano, playing all his songs in
"slow motion", amazingly keeping the song's progress and arrangement
in his head.
Someone, please correct me if I'm remembering this wrong!
