In 980219 MMDigest Will Dahlgren was looking for a programmer to create
some custom MIDI file analysis programs.
Guenter Nagler <gnagler@ihm.tu-graz.ac.at> offers a lot of Midi-
utilities, most of them with C-sources and free for non-commercial use,
such as
midistat.zip: Statistics of a MIDI file (tracks, channels, programs,
notes, volumes, velocities)
midinote.zip: Produces a note listing sorted by time; easily
importable from other programs. Flexible text format now also contains
header, tempo, tact information.
midi2txt.zip: Converts binary MIDI files into mnemonic text.
Checks binary MIDI files for errors (option -error). Shows some MIDI
information, e.g., lyrics (option -lyric).
txt2midi.zip: Compiles text mnemonic MIDI files into binary.
