Hello All. My name is Mickey Sadler and I live in Dublin, Ohio. How
did I find the Digest? Well, I have been thinking about building a boat
that is a replica steamboat sternwheeler, and everyone knows that they
all have a calliope. I searched the net for calliope plans and found
the Mechanical Music Digest!
I have pumped a player that belonged to my grandparents, I owned a
pump reed organ for a short while, and I presently own a Wurlitzer 950
electronic organ. Reading the Archives have given me some ideas --
a shop manual for the Wurlitzer and add a MIDI controller, build a
cabinet with a roll or book reader and let the music flow. I've found
where to get calliope plans, band organ plans (I already own the Dover
reprint of Audsley's books on organ design and building), where to get
pieces-parts, etc.
The Mechanical Music Digest is a great resource and I would like to
thank everyone for their input to it. As I learn more I hope to
contribute to it also.
Later,
Mickey Sadler
