Hello, I am Scott Olson. I have submitted a couple things to the MM
Digest and it's time to do an intro!
I have been in the Piano and organ business since 1966 -- I started
when I was 14 years old. I apprenticed to an older gentleman on
Hammond organs, and some other brands as they came our way. I worked
with Bill Bunch of Balcomb and Vaughn Pipe Organs of Seattle in the
early 1970's while attending College. Bill was with Aeolian Skinner
for years. More recently George Baker has been a mentor for me, as
well as several other PTG members.
I had experience rebuilding player and regular pianos, and have been
getting help to bring my piano tuning skills to concert level. I take
care of the Stinson band organ at our carousel in Missoula, Montana,
hence the Gaviman handle. I also help with the maintenance of the
Robert Morton 3/10 Theatre Organ at the Wilma Theatre in Missoula, and
I have two band organs under construction (from "scratch").
My interests are any kind of musical device and trains, real trains
and little trains (Lionel esp.). I still play music semi-professionally
on Hammond organ and pedal steel guitar. I really like the MM Digest,
Thanks!!
