will not lift evenly."
I have one possible answer. The hammer rail rotates around a center
that is not in line with the hammer flange centers. As the rail lifts
up, it can actually catch on the inside of the hammer tails. To test
this, pull the action, lift the rail by hand, and the lift each hammer
and feel for binding. Sand off the rubbing part of the hammer. A side
benefit will be a lighter touch.
