Doug Mauldin did ask me, last spring, about a Dutch street organ,
called "De Duif" (The Dove). I do not quite remember what I was able
to tell him, but he now is asking if I could tell him more.
Maybe. In the meantime, however, the Dutch "Kring van Draaiorgel-
vrienden" abbreviated "KDV" (the main Dutch society when street- and
fair organs are involved) has become active on the Internet, and in the
MMD, due to the fact that the secretary of the board Hans van Oost did
start a KDV site.
I'm glad that finally the KDV is now "at hand" for the MMD-members.
A year ago they did not even want to discuss such an option. In fact
I did leave the KDV (also) because of the fact that they did not answer
letters regarding the subject, or if they did so, they were pushing
away any suggestion about sharing their information.
As often, times do show a change of opinions.
Since Hans, being the secretary of the board of the KDV, has by far
better opportunities to access information about the world of
mechanical organs in general, and especially the Dutch ones , I would
suggest that you do address your questions directly to him.
I will forward the question of Doug as well. I'm sure Hans will be
glad and able to be better of help.
