Dear MMDers: I recently received a request from an older gentlemen
here in Georgia that I copy my piano roll rendition of "Lucky Lindy",
Imperial Roll # 06560 (played by ??? - no artist listed - maybe
Kortlander). My piano tuner (also a player piano technician) noticed
"Lucky Lindy" in my collection and alerted his elderly friend who has
been looking for years for a copy.
Before I ship this roll off to be scanned and copied, I would like to
ask whether anyone out there has an *outstanding* version of this song
which would merit a recut (and which they wouldn't mind loaning for
scanning by Custom Music Rolls, or Wayne Stahnke). The Imperial
version is pretty good, but it is not really really good. As the
scanning will preserve it for all time, I would like to do the recut on
a roll really worth saving.
Of course, if someone has already recut this, OR previously scanned it
into a Stahnke or Tonnesen format, this would be the best thing.
Also, if there is anyone interested in procuring a copy at actual cost
(when we do the recut), this would assist in keeping costs down for
this older gentleman.
Thanks,
Tim Baxter
