Bob Pierce, Pierce Piano Atlas
By Philip Jamison

Bob Pierce passed away a few years ago. I believe his son now sells
the Piano Atlas and the decals (now $3.00 apiece, I think). I wrote
to Mr. Pierce several years ago asking if he had any piano literature
for sale. He replied that he had just "hauled a dumpster of the stuff
away".

Bob was quite a salesman, and a good portion of the book detailed his
career and interests. Must have been quite a character. He bought the
Atlas from a fellow named Michel, who also wrote an interesting book on
historical pianos. Not all the Atlas' information is correct (it dates
pianos by serial numbers), but it's the best available.
