I'm pleased to announce that Bob Fitterman's program which processes
the MMD Archives into a searchable website has been applied to all of
the Digests through the end of December, 1997. To access the Archives,
use this URL from your browser:
http://mmd.foxtail.com/Archives
The Archives are organized with a "KWIC" (KeyWord In Context) index,
an "Author" index, and a "by-date" index. The interface is reasonably
intuitive, if you remember to use the "back" button in your browser to
get back to the previous page if you want to pick a different item from
the menu on the previous page.
We anticipate that there will be some bugs to be fixed and some features
to be added in the future, but the "beta testing" has been encouraging
so we think its ready for prime time. If you find a bug or a typographical
error please let us know at:
rollreq@foxtail.com
Bob Fitterman has gone to a great deal of trouble to make the process of
importing data into the Archives and generating the Web pages easy for
me. I'm hoping to be able to incorporate new articles and correct typos
in a timely manner.
My sincere thanks to Bob for writing the program and importing the
original data, and to Robbie for doing so much of the editing so that
I've had time to learn how to work Bob's program.
Since the Archives are expected to change frequently, it would be a good
idea to hit the "reload" button on your browser if you see a page that
you think might be old.
