I hope this fits in the scope of MMD topics. Our church has a Brother
PDC100 (Professional Disk Composer) sequencer attached to its Wicks
pipe organ. The PDC100 is four years old and has become unreliable
-- its operation is somewhat erratic on both record and playback modes.
While I now realize we would have been better off with another make
of sequencer, when we bought this one, its relative low cost was an
attraction to the committee. (Live and learn.) Brother is no longer
in the sequencer business and has been very unhelpful with it. After
six exasperating phone calls, I found out from the company that Brother
no longer will service or supply parts for the PDC100. Dealers and
repair centers for Brother products are of no help in the matter.
Does any one out there in MMD-land know of anyone who can repair these
devices? It would help if such a person exists that he/she be in the
Cleveland, Ohio region.
Thanks,
Bob Ebert
[ Did Wicks have any advice? Does the sequencer store the data on
[ a computer disc or diskette? If so, a computer repair shop might
[ help you, or a large music store which serves the working musicians.
