Greetings: I understand my newly acquired Steck Duo-Art upright
is pre-1930. Any more info? Serial number is 63697 (Aeolian Duo-Art
Pianola). Expect to have it serviced soon, but in meanwhile,
a question.
It barely plays unless "squeeze levers" are pulled together with
a rubber band. Then it seems to be fine. Is now in a humidity-
controlled environment (35%), but this has not reduced need to keep
the levers squeezed together. Is it harmful to operate it this way?
What is recommended maintenance schedule?
Have been lurking in the Digest for about a week and send kudos for
your substance. Thanks for info on Sanfilippo Collection CD/history,
will pass on to NCA members in upcoming issue of Merry-Go-Roundup if
no objection(s).
