Hi Gang, First of all let me say the all of you deserve awards in some
way, but I need to keep this posting of a reasonable size.
The "busiest guy" award goes to Mr. John A. Tuttle, who operates a
*great* major web site, rebuilds players full-time, and still manages
to maintain personal correspondence with several people. I don't know
how he does it!
The "best piano roll software" award goes to Richard Brandle (Wind) and
Wayne Stahnke (View). Richard's program runs with Windows, and Wayne's
runs in DOS.
The "best player roll product" award goes to Richard and Janet
Tonnesen. Their perforator just punches away all the time, and without
their efforts, us "little guys" would have never seen our work on a
player roll. They have in fact, made my dreams come true!! Not only
are they reasonable, the product is first rate and has become a
standard that I measure all other rolls against. Without them, a lot
of roll suppliers would be in heap big trouble. Keep in mind that
Richard and Janet hand built the perforator, which is remarkable, so
they also deserve the "engineering" award as well.
The "technical award" goes to Craig Brougher, whose methods work every
time I have tried them, without exception. He has taken pneumatic
devices to a science, and is generous with his advice with anyone who
is willing to listen.
The "music award" of course goes to a fellow roll cutter, George
Bogatko, who I have learned much from. George has been very generous
with his knowledge and his MIDI files with yours truly.
The "youngest tech" award goes to Damon Atchison, whose questions and
dedication to the pneumatic art are most refreshing.
