Hi everybody. I was wondering if anybody knows of any videotapes of
collections. (I have two: The Musical Museum in Deansboro NY and the
one sold by Player Piano Company.
I read some archived digests on pouch sealer and read a letter from
Craig Brougher mentioning a product called Dow Corning Silicone Grease
for doing this. Where can this product be obtained, as I haven't
really looked yet. I'm going to try mink oil from Player Piano Company
on my current rebuild; does this scare anybody or should I stay with
thinned rubber cement?
Also, what happens to a player actions performance if you don't seal
them? (I know it should cause too much bleed as the leather breathes
but to what effect will the player still function well.) It is my
opinion that the pouches should be sealed with something, especially
primary valve chest pouches that were originally zephyr skin. Thanks
for any input which will greatly appreciated, as I want to strive
towards super long-lasting rebuilds.
Also I'd like to give high regards for Damon; he will make a fine
rebuilder, starting out so young and learning the techniques, as his
interest in automatic pianos is true and strong.
Merry Xmas to everybody in the group!!
