'Grand Piano' Duo-Art CD Has Bad Tempo
By Ian McDonald

Re Nimbus "Grand Piano Era" NI8801. The tempo of the Bach/Busoni Suite
for solo violin in D minor, Chaconne (Duo-Art roll 6928 played by
Busoni) is so slow that it takes 18.45 minutes to play the roll on
the CD. At the correct roll tempo of 50 (Patriot recut) it takes
only 12 to 13 minutes.

How long did Busoni take to play the Chaconne?

Ian McDonald
