Bob,  Have you thought about using a turkey call type device for your
clucking?  The ones we have seen in our area are small lightweight
boxes with a lid which pivots on one end.

The box is made to resonate by rubbing the moveable top across the edge
of the box.  The size is about 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" x 6" long.  The lid is
longer than the box and the extended portion acts as a handle for
making the noise.  The thickness of the wood for the box probably
determines the frequency of the sound.

Maybe someone else on the Digest is more familiar with the construction
than we are and can give more detailed instructions.
