One of the nice things of the MMD, in my humble opinion, is the fact
that the editors are open-minded, thus allowing side-step topics to its
members.
I would like to make such a side step, because some time ago an article
in my daily newspaper gave some information which may be of interest.
It's about America's history. And is the MMD not also highly involved
with history, at least partly?

The city of Leiden, the town where the Pilgrim Fathers lived for
several years before sailing to what was to become the USA, has opened
the new building of the city-archives. In these archives a lot of
information about the Pilgrim Fathers is at hand, and a good deal of
it is in English.
On the occasion of this opening a new web site was created, where over
300 official documents about these group of English refugees can be
found: http://www.leiden.nl/gemeentearchief . The text is both in
Dutch and in English. The information can be found under "Pilgrims
in Leiden". It's worth a visit if you are interested in USA history.
The complete path is:
