Subject: J.C.Deagan player
Hello Ken: I was pleased to find your name in my web search for music
roll player info. My name is Richard Slagel and I live in Rome, New
York. I am a member of the Rome Lodge #96 of the Elks. We have a
player made by J. C. Deagan, Inc., with chimes, that was installed
somewhere around 1937. Have you ever heard of this player?
We are looking for a new paper roll as the current one is getting very
worn. The current roll is about 7" wide and I have no exact
measurement of the length, but it is continuous for the duration of the
song - Auld Lang Syne. I don't know if this is the original roll
size or not.
Do you have any information on this unit which might lead me to getting
a replacement roll and possibly even some information on maintenance
and repair ?? Or even where I might get some plain paper which I could
use to make a new roll ?? And how to go about punching the holes ??
I would appreciate any information you could provide - this has been a
real mystery here locally.
Thank-you.
Richard Slagel
